Love World

We love the world by praying, giving, and going on mission around the world. In Acts 1:8, Jesus said, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest parts of the earth.” Our church takes this command to heart by reaching out to our local community, as well as to other parts of the state of Florida and the United States, but also to lost peoples in the remotest parts of the earth.

Shindler Drive Baptist Church supports missions through giving. 10% of all undesignated receipts go to support the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention which funds missionary work in North America and around the world. We give to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American missions, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for international missions, the Maguire State Missions Offering for Florida missions, and to the Jacksonville Baptist Association. We also support an orphanage in Cabaret, Haiti through our giving. In addition to giving, we pray each week during our Wednesday evening prayer meeting for prayer requests offered by NAMB and IMB missionaries.

Shindler is also active in going to support mission work around the world. Each year we offer mission trips to Haiti to work with the orphanage, and to an international destination as well as a domestic site. Shindler has recently participated in trips to Brazil, Slovenia, Ireland, Alaska, Miami, and Tuscaloosa. We are currently partnering with other churches to plant the Level Ground Community Church in New Orleans, LA through the Send North America initiative of NAMB. We have also adopted the C* people, an Unreached People Group (UPG), to bring the gospel to those who have not yet heard of Christ.
