Our Mission

To Be Disciples and Make Disciples…

The mission of Shindler Drive Baptist Church is “to be disciples and make disciples.” All of our activities and programs are measured against this purpose. By being disciples, Shindler is responding to the Greatest Commandments given by our Lord. He said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40). Our services, our classes, and our programs are designed to help Christians grow in their love for God, their obedience to follow Him, and their expression of that love to others. We express being disciples by loving God and loving our community.

By making disciples, Shindler is responding to the Great Commission given by our Lord. He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20). We make disciples by evangelizing the lost and discipling the saved. We are committed to make disciples of Jesus Christ by loving our community and loving the world. Our goal is that our church would be characterized as a body of believers who love God, love their community, and love the world, and that we would faithfully be disciples and make disciples for Jesus Christ.
